Profile

Mariluz is originally from Colombia. Since 2003, she has taught English and Spanish to elementary students of all ages in Spain, Dallas, and the Pacific Northwest.  At Valley since 2024,  Mariluz teaches Spanish, supports students with small group work in literacy, and facilitates affinity groups. She notes that she especially appreciates how affinity groups create supportive spaces for students. In addition to teaching at Valley, Mariluz is also a Spanish tutor and a yoga instructor. Outside of school, she loves to travel, sail, and foster dogs.
