100th Day of School Fundraising Efforts

She talked with the class about the different ways she and her group help our homeless citizens in Seattle. When asked what types of things they could use to support their efforts, Tricia said that socks are always in need, as homeless people don't have access to laundry services.  For our 100th day of school fundraising efforts, Valley School chose this organization because they gather all manner of supplies and go out to the areas where most homeless people gather.  It's direct action, and that really makes sense to children.  The socks will go to people in one of three areas:  the North Jungle, under I5, as well as the Sodo and Eastlake areas.  They also provide help and support to homeless pets! Every classroom with be collecting sox, with the goal of 100 pairs of sox per class. We will be collecting sox in each classroom through February 26th.
